WCS17: Top Tips for a weekend in Bristol

Just in case you have any space left in your WCS17 weekend plans, we thought we might give you a few more highlights to make sure you make the most of your time in Bristol.

1. GET THE #BRISTOLBETA

Our full #BristolBeta series featuring local women climbers giving you the beta on all the best brews, food, climbing and entertainment. Click the links in the sidebar to find out more.

2. GO TO THE CIRCUS

Award-winning Ockham’s Razor starring WCS17 acrobalance coach Emily Nicholl will be performing as part of Bristol Circus City from 27-28 October at Bristol Grammar School. For more info and tickets, visit their website. You do not want to miss this!

3. TAKE THE WYE VALLEY SALATHE WALL CHALLENGE

In case you need a bit or direction to your climbing, why not try the mother of all ticklists? Yosemite’s El Cap route Salathé Wall ranks alongside the very best big wall routes in the world – it is 35 pitches long. The Wye Valley Salathé Challenge seeks to climb the ‘equivalent’ of the Salathé Wall in a day and save on the air fare! Full rules and routes here.

4.PHYSIO ASSESSMENTS

WCS17 speaker and top climbing physio Nina Tappin (Leonfellner) will be running assessments and injury consultations at Bloc on Sunday 5th November with discounted rates for WCS attendees. If you’re keen to prevent injury, want to know the best way to approach climbing through pregnancy or have been nursing a niggle, take advantage of having an expert in town! Find out more here.

5. FIREWORKS

If you’re in Bristol from the Friday night, why not catch some local fireworks at King George V Playing Field in Cleeve. Details here.
